Preparing Simcenter Amesim architecture models

After creating a library of supercomponents, you have to create one or several Simcenter Amesim models to define the architecture of the model that Simcenter System Analyst will be used to run simulations. These Simcenter Amesim models must be composed with supercomponents from the libraries of supercomponents prepared previously. The Simcenter Amesim model can also include any other submodels from existing libraries (outside the supercomponents).

It is also possible to use global parameters in the Simcenter Amesim model. These parameters will then be available at the View Architecture level in Simcenter System Analyst. You can use the global parameters function to allow Analysts to access the parameters of submodels that are not contained in supercomponents.

Note

When giving Analysts access to model data files through global parameters, the best practice is:

  • Use $GREENCZ and put the data in a dedicated folder within the Simulation Environment For example: $GREENCZ\models\Amesim\data\file.data.

Store your models in the models folder of the Simulation Environment. The Administrator must set this path in the cz.xml using the Tool_Directory tag (see figure Figure 485).

Warning

Do not forget to purge the models to make sure that they do not contain any .exe files that might lead to errors when performing the model import.

Warning

For complying with the model import process, your model must have only library path references starting with an environment variable. To ensure that:

  1. In Simcenter Amesim category path list, remove all the libraries that have an absolute path without environment variables.

  2. If required add missing/removed libraries ensuring that their path starts with an environment variable (mostly $AME or $GREENCZ).

  3. Apply Simcenter Amesim Model update assistant.
