The Library tree

The Library tree contains the libraries you have loaded for the Modelica Editor.

Note

The first time you launch the Modelica Editor, the Library tree is empty. To start using the Modelica Editor, we suggest you load our two standardized Modelica libraries. You can find these libraries in the $ame/Modelica directory. They are called the Modelica Standard library, and the SimcenterAmesim library:

• Modelica Standard Library 3.2.3 – MSL 3.2.3

• Modelica Standard Library 4.0.0 – MSL 4.0.0

• SimcenterAmesim – Only compatible with the MSL 3.2.3

• SimcenterAmesim 1.1 – Only compatible with the MSL 4.0.0

Double-click or right-click and select Open or Open in new Tab in the library tree to open the selected class.

The root packages of the standard libraries (Modelica, ModelicaServices, ModelicaReference and SimcenterAmesim libraries) are read-only. This is indicated by a lock icon . Additionally, when you open a package in the Text Editor, the content is grayed-out and non-editable.

You can load packages into the Modelica library tree through the File > Open menu. When the name of a package you are trying to load conflicts with an existing package, an error message is displayed:

You can unload a library from the Library tree through a right-click. If there are unsaved modifications in that library, a dialog asks you if you wish to save those changes before unloading it.

The Library tree also gives you access to the following contextual menu options:

	Open	Open a model or class, or load packages in the Library tree
	Open in new Tab	Open a model or class in a new tab
	Extend...	Create a new class that is extended from the selected one
	Save	Save the selected class
	Duplicate...	Make a new copy of the selected class
	Order	Move the selected class up or down in the Library tree
	Delete	Delete the selected class
	Refresh	Update the display in the Modelica Editor
	Add to active Simcenter Amesim model..	Convert the selected model or block to an Simcenter Amesim submodel. See below.

This function allows you to send a model to Simcenter Amesimto be simulated. When you do this, a Modelica icon is inserted on the Simcenter Amesim sketch:

At the same time, a new Modelica class is created inheriting from the added class and inserted into the Simcenter Amesim models window as shown in the figure below.
