Design Of Experiments Central composite

The Central Composite can be seen as a Full Factorial to which some extra runs are added. You define 5 levels:

• a high level,

• a low level,

• a central level,

• a high star level, and

• a low star level.

The low and high levels are used to perform the same sequence of runs as for Full Factorial. The other ones are used to perform 2×N+1 extra runs.

The main objective of this technique is to obtain a quadratic response surface model.
