Solver type: Regular, Cautious, disabled
These options are available in the Run Parameters dialog box in the Standard options tab.
With numerical algorithms there is often a compromise to be made between speed and reliability. When the Regular solver type is selected, the Simcenter Amesim Run solver is fairly aggressive trying to get a fast solution. With Cautious selected, slower and more reliable strategies are used which often lead to higher CPU times. These options apply to both stabilizing runs and dynamic runs but the effect is greater for stabilizing runs.
However, with some specific systems the Regular option is more reliable than Cautious.

If user-written submodels obey the rules given in the Submodel Editor manual, good speedups can be expected using this option. However, if these rules are broken, runs may be slower. Optimized solver technology is based on an analysis of information exchanged by submodels through ports. If information is exchanged between submodels without being visible to the solver at the ports where it is exchanged, the advantage provided by the optimized solver may be lost and integration might become unstable. In this case, you can disable the optimized solver which applies to both the Regular and Cautious options.
