Minimal discontinuity handling

Minimal discontinuity handling is a special feature that makes it possible to ignore discontinuities that are not severe (discontinuities that should not affect state variables) when evaluating derivatives or residuals in dynamic mode.

By default Minimal discontinuity handling is disabled and most of the time you should leave it in this state.

If you tick this checkbox, Simcenter Amesim will ignore all but the most violent discontinuities. If you find runs are very slow and are prepared to take a risk in order to get faster results, try enabling this checkbox. Sometimes runs are spectacularly faster, but they may be slower, and the simulation may fail completely.

Use of Minimal discontinuity handling must remain a ‘last hope’ option, if you want your integration to remain accurate.
