Introduction

End of Support for RLM License Manager

Starting with version 2410, Siemens is transitioning from RLM (Reprise License Manager™) to FNP (FlexNet Publisher™) licensing for Simcenter Systems products, including Simcenter™ Amesim™, Client for Git, and Simcenter™ System Analyst. This change is intended to standardize licensing technology across Siemens products, improving security and compatibility.

FNP licensing is compatible with Simcenter Amesim versions dating back to 2020.1. For further details on the installation process, refer to the installation manual or contact your local support team.

New installer

Starting with version 2410, Simcenter Amesim will use the Siemens Install Platform as its installer. As a result, both the installation process and scripted installation have been updated. For complete details, please consult the installation manual.

Template .bat and .sh files

The %AME%\misc\RunAMEXYZTemplate.bat on Windows and the shell template $AME/misc/RunAMEXYZTemplate.sh on Linux have been removed as they are no longer necessary. Users can start several versions of Simcenter Amesim on a single machine by starting the respective entry in the Windows Start menu, or the Shell script on Linux.

Obsolete submodels end of life

Old obsolete submodels (obsolete for at least 10 years) have been removed. They must be replaced with a newer version, with the help of the Model Update Assistant, to keep model compilation working.

Model and library support

Models and libraries created in Simcenter Amesim versions prior to 2020.1 are not supported in the current Simcenter Amesim version 2511.

To update these unsupported models or libraries, open and save them using a Simcenter Amesim version newer than 2020.1 first. Once this step is completed, these files will be compatible and can be opened in Simcenter Amesim 2511.

Simcenter Automation Connect

Starting with version 2404, we are merging the Simcenter Automation Connect download section into Simcenter Amesim in the Support Center. This consolidation aims to simplify the user experience by providing a centralized platform for accessing Simcenter Amesim and Simcenter Automation Connect resources. Users will benefit from improved navigation, streamlined updates, and enhanced collaboration between the two functionalities.
