The Simcenter Amesim Study Manager in detail
Main principles
In the Simcenter Amesim design exploration tool, we introduce the concept of a study study for design exploration . A study is a set of inputs and outputs, associated with a name and a design exploration technique and its properties.
A study name must be unique inside a family.
It is possible to define and store several studies at the same time. You can run whichever one you want, but two studies cannot run simultaneously.
All the studies can involve a subset or the whole set of input and output parameters that you selected during the parameters setup.
During the execution stage, Simcenter Amesim performs a sequence of runs, changing the model parameters for each run and reading and post-processing the results. For each run (or just for a subset), the values of model inputs and outputs are stored in a log file. The format of this file is described in Log file viewer.
During this sequence of runs, Simcenter Amesim only temporarily changes the values of the model parameters. This means you do not lose the parameter settings you made for you model (in Parameter mode). If you then do a standard run, the parameters you originally set are used.
