Encryption

Using the old encryption method

The supercomponent encryption mechanism changed significantly in Rev 11, compared to previous versions of Component Customization/Simcenter Amesim. The major change concerns the compilation of constituent submodel code in a dedicated library.

This new encryption method has been judged far more robust against reverse engineering. However, it is still possible to use the former encryption mechanism in Component Customization. To do so, go to Tools > Preferences... and select the Use old encryption mechanism Use old encryption mechanism check box available in the General tab.

Selecting this option is reversible: a supercomponent encrypted with a given method can be updated to the other method by saving it again after the Use old encryption mechanism check box has been selected or unselected.

If the supercomponent is already being used in a model, the model must be updated using the update assistant tools. The Model Update Assistant will detect the encryption method and update the reloaded supercomponents.
