Simcenter 3D Motion to Simcenter Amesim interface
Importing the Simcenter 3D Motion Model into Simcenter Amesim
The next step is to import the Simcenter 3D Motion model into Simcenter Amesim. After starting Simcenter Amesim and building the Simcenter Amesim model the user needs to import the Simcenter 3D Motion model. The following command in Sketch mode is used to import the Simcenter 3D Motion model.
Interfaces > Import Simcenter 3D Motion Motion Model
This will bring up the dialog box shown in the figure below. This file dialog will prompt the user for a mcosim file. The user should select the file exported from Simcenter 3D Motion.

Simcenter Amesim will now read in the mcosim the file and fill out the Simcenter 3D Motion co-sim block as shown in the figure below. The inputs and outputs will be automatically displayed.

The Simcenter 3D Motion tab, (see the figure below) will contain parameters that can be set to control the Simcenter 3D Motion solution. The grayed out field is the reference to the Simcenter 3D Motion model as the solver input file exported from Simcenter 3D Motion and cannot be accessed by the user from within Simcenter Amesim. This is because the Simcenter 3D Motion model inputs and outputs are specific to the given Simcenter Amesim model.

The normal compile and solution execution process is followed in Simcenter Amesim. When the user selects the Simcenter 3D Motion block from within Parameter mode, all available Simcenter 3D Motion parameters are shown. There are two parameters shown that are not shown in the Simcenter 3D Motion tab and these are the print interval and the Simcenter 3D Motion Interpolation Order. The communication interval is the discrete time intervals at which the Simcenter 3D Motion solver is called. The Simcenter 3D Motion extrapolation order is the order of the extrapolation method used to estimate the inputs to Simcenter 3D Motion. The Simcenter 3D Motion solver is called at a rate of the communication interval during the simulation. The solver receives a set of inputs from Simcenter Amesim at the start of the communication and then integrates to the end of the communication interval.
