Optimized solver

Simcenter Amesim is known to be a fast and accurate simulation tool especially in the domains of fluid systems and mechatronics. A major improvement in calculation speed has been achieved thanks to the Optimized solver.

Using this option, it is common to get speedups of a factor greater than 5 (five!) on big systems, especially on complex hydraulic or mechanical systems. Big systems show the greatest improvement but on almost all systems some improvements can be seen. This speedup is achieved without loss of accuracy.

The Optimized solver is enabled by default and this is the best option for all the models using standard Simcenter Amesim submodels. However if you use your own submodels and you experience longer simulation time, this means one, or some of your own submodels break some submodel coding rules. In this case you can disable the integrator optimization by using the corresponding checkbox in the Standard options tab of the Run Parameters dialog box.

As soon as you go back to using models with only standard Simcenter Amesim submodels, untick this checkbox to reactivate integrator optimization.
