3D Navigation commands

You can perform 3D navigation operations in the Scene area either through the mouse buttons, or through the toolbar icons.

Mouse button 3D navigation

  • Rotation: press the right mouse button and move the mouse

  • Pan: press the mouse wheel button and move the mouse

  • Zoom in/out: move the mouse wheel up/down

Procedure

  1. Use the Rotate button  to rotate the viewpoint. The Rotate tool performs a 3D rotation. It is useful for viewing the scene from any point of view. To rotate using the Rotate tool:

Click the Rotate button.

Click anywhere in the Scene area.

Move your cursor in any direction to rotate around the center of the Scene area.

  1. Use the Pan button  to move the scene without changing view plane and the view distance. The Pan tool performs a pan operator.To pan using the Pan tool:

Click the Pan button.

Click anywhere in the Scene area.

Move your cursor in any direction to pan.

  1. Use the Zoom in/out button  to zoom the scene in and out.To zoom in and out using the Zoom in/out tool:

Click the Zoom in/out button.

Click anywhere in the Scene area.

Drag the mouse cursor left to zoom in and right to zoom out.
