Unit management Import

The Unit Management dialog no longer supports the import of legacy unit (text) files:

As of Rev 12, you must use the new XML file format:

When you import a legacy unit configuration file, the following message appears:

The following procedure explains how to use your own conversion factors or units in Simcenter Amesim.

Procedure

1. Export an existing configuration to a file.

2. Open this file in your preferred text editor.

3. Add either specific units, or full domain definitions.

Note Make sure you update the "User_Specific" XML tag (see figure below).

4. Edit existing Simcenter Amesim units.

5. Once you have fully personalized the file, import it through the Unit Management dialog box.

A warning message asks you to confirm the import, and provides the option of renaming the imported configuration:

6. Click Rename.

7. Update the name of the imported configuration:
