Apps in Simcenter Amesim

Apps can be defined for different contexts depending on your needs (either being model or component apps).

The infrastructure to define apps is the same in both cases, the only difference is that some apps are designed to relate to a model, others to a component.

When created, an app at model and component level is what we call dynamic meaning it is part of the .ame file and can be edited at any time since it is contained in the document.

However both kind of apps become static when:

• a model app is part of the MY APPS category or the built-in categories from the App space. In this case the app is automatically available at when the model is opened, whatever the model is.

• a component app is part of a library. In this case every time such a component is placed on the sketch it will automatically have its app available

Static apps cannot be directly edited. They must be dynamic to be edited.
