Adding a user-defined library

On the User/Corporate/Managed libraries tab, you can add additional directories to the current path list.

If you have libraries that are not provided with Simcenter Amesim, but which are nonetheless compatible with Simcenter Amesim, you can also add the directories of the corresponding nodes (containing the submodels.index and any associated AMEIcons file(s)).

In addition more advanced users may wish to modify the way in which the Simcenter Amesim executable is created by putting a special AME.make file in a directory. This file will be accessed if this directory is added to the path list.

The key feature is to add a directory (a node) in which at least one of the following files is situated:

  • submodels.index

  • AMEIcons

  • AME.make

To add a directory to the current path list:

Procedure

  1. Enter the directory full name in the Add library path field and click on the Add button, or click on the Browse button, search for the directory you want and click on the Select folder button.

Warning Do not use special characters in library paths (such as '$', '#', ';', '', '&', '"', ''', '(', ')', '|', '`' etc.) as this can cause problems for model compilation.

The directory is added to the available categories, under User-defined libraries.

  1. Select your directory and click on the Add button.

Results

The directory is added to the Current path list.

Note

  • You can select an item in the Current path list and move it up or down using the arrow buttons.

  • The changes you make are finally applied when you click on the OK button. If you select the Cancel button, the changes will be ignored.
