Question
What are the supported versions of MATLAB/Simulink with Simcenter Amesim?
What about the Microsoft Visual C++ compatibility? And GCC?
Answer
The following information presents the versions of MATLAB/Simulink that are supported by the different versions of Simcenter Amesim for the Simcenter Amesim to Simulink interface, and for the Simulink to Simcenter Amesim interface. Where a version is indicated as 'Probably supported', the version concerned has not been tested with Simcenter Amesim, but should present no problems.
Compatibility
Tested with releases R2020b and R2024b. All releases between these two versions should work.
Compilers
For the compatibility between Simulink and compiler, please refer to the Mathworks website:
As of Simcenter Amesim 2504 the 64-bit variant of the GCC compiler (MinGW GCC) provided with Simcenter Amesim on Windows has been upgraded to version 13.1. MATLAB/Simulink R2020b or newer can be used with this compiler. Install the required support package in MATLAB/Simulink. Select the MinGW64 GCC compiler in MATLAB/Simulink (using mex –setup). Use the 64-bit GCC compiler in Simcenter Amesim.
If you work with older versions of MATLAB on a PC with Windows, you must use Microsoft Visual C++ since it is the only compiler that can generate S-Functions for Simulink. The GNU GCC 32-bit compiler supplied with Simcenter Amesim CANNOT be used with MATLAB. Note This compiler cannot be used with the Simulink to Simcenter Amesim interface (SL2Amecosim).
