Context and History
Introduction
The HYD Bosch Fuel Properties were developed in closed partnership between Bosch GmbH and Imagine (the name of the company at the time). Bosch GmbH allowed Imagine to push the fuel properties models with associated experimental measurements in the Hydraulic library. There were initially some confidentiality/property issues involved in this project, consequently Imagine did not have full access to all the inputs and associated information. Imagine’s work consisted in the validation of the Bosch approach used in its in-house code, the industrialization of the code for the Simcenter AmesimHydraulic library and the later introduction of some advanced features such as cavitation.
This was a long task, lasting more than 4 years. The different steps were as follows:
1997/1998: Imagine implemented a first version of HYD Bosch Fuel properties in the Hydraulic library through iterations between Dr Egler from Bosch GmbH and experts at Imagine.
1999/2001: a model of cavitation was introduced to these fuel properties during another collaboration between Bosch GmbH and Imagine.
2001/2002: other iterations between Bosch GmbH and Imagine occurred during the development of the THH Bosch Fuel Properties. Some of these THH discussions highlighted some aspects of the HYD Bosch Fuel Properties.
The goal of this document is to deal with the main points related to these HYD Bosch Fuel Properties so that most customer questions can be answered directly within this document.
Note
For the sake of simplicity, the name Imagine is replaced by Siemens in the rest of this document, even when referring to events which occurred when the name of the company was still Imagine.
