Introduction
The discontinuity handling is necessary for a numerical solver to work properly. Such a mechanism is introduced in Simcenter Amesim™ software standard solver and libraries.
To be completely efficient, discontinuities must also be handled in submodels created by end-users with Submodel Editor. If a single submodel in a whole model generates discontinuous signals without applying the discontinuity handling mechanism, the whole simulation will be penalized.
The objective of this document is to provide submodel writers with a complete overview of the discontinuity handling mechanism and the impact on the way physical equations are coded.
