Before you start

Before installing Simcenter Amesim, you must have a valid license file from Siemens. The license file includes licenses for all the applications and libraries in the Simcenter Amesim family for which you are licensed.

The license file is not supplied in the installation package, it is specific to each computer. Your license file is usually supplied by e-mail. If you already have them, you can proceed with the installation. If you do not have them, please contact your local Siemens representative: see the How to contact Siemens section at the beginning of this document.

For any request, please have ready, or include in your e-mail, the following items:

• Your License Contract Number if you have already used a previous version of Simcenter Amesim.

• For FlexNet Publisher, you might be asked to provide a composite hostid (CID) for the computer on which the license manager will run. For information on what a CID is and how to generate it, please refer to the Composite Hostid (CID) section of the Siemens Digital Industries Software Licensing Manual for PLM Products.
