State activity

This function is part of the Performance Analyzer.

When sorted according to the Controlled column, this identifies which state variable is slowing the run down. The problem may be in the corresponding submodel but may also be in an adjoining one. Look at the variables of these submodels, check their values are correct (plot them) and if some of them look suspicious check the corresponding parameters.

Examples of typical models causing very slow runs are given below:

• Extremely small volume hydraulic chambers, especially when connected to a pipe with a much bigger volume.

• Big orifices connected to small pipes.

• Extremely small masses, especially when subjected to big forces.
