Port Synchronization

You can drag and drop connectors into the Diagram Editor. Consequently, if you add a connector to the Diagram Editor, you also add it in the Icon Editor (and vice-versa).  Note that the connector’s location in the Icon view is independent of that same connector’s location in the Diagram view.  This is so that you can arrange components in the Diagram view however you wish, but create an icon to represent the assembly with connector ports located in more convenient locations.
