The Sketch menu > Category path list

Available categories

The Available categories section lists the Simcenter Amesim libraries for which you have a license. Your list may be shorter depending on the licenses you have. Each library may contain one or several categories.

This section contains three tabs: Solutions, Libraries, and User/Corporate/Managed libraries.

Solutions

This node groups library licenses as packages of libraries.

You can add all the libraries that comprise a Solution to the current path list by selecting that Solution and clicking the Add button.

Libraries

This node lists all the libraries available as defined by your license. This list includes the libraries that comprise the Solutions packages available to you.

You can either add libraries to the current path list individually from the Libraries node, or as part of a Solutions package.

If you need to respect a particular order in the path list, you can add a library individually, before adding the Solutions package that contains it. The library then appears individually in the path list, as well as being present in the Solution package.

In the above example, the libdv library appears as an individual library, but is also present in the Vehicle Dynamics solution package. Nevertheless, this counts as only one license token.

You can remove a library from the Current path list. Normally the only reason to do this is a shortage of library licenses compared to the number of people using Simcenter Amesim. If for example you have 5 Simcenter Amesim licenses but only one Pneumatic library license, you may wish to give up the Pneumatic license so that a colleague can use it. To do this, select the item in the Current path list so that it is highlighted and then click on the Remove button. Note that you can instead simply disable the category rather than remove it completely from the path list. See Enabling and disabling categories.

You can make multiple selections using a Shift+click (to select a block of libraries) or a Ctrl+click (to select several separate libraries). In this way you can manipulate multiple libraries through a right-click or using the buttons in the Path List window.

Note

You cannot remove the Standard Simcenter Amesim library ($AME).

User/Corporate/Managed libraries

This tab allows you to add user-defined or corporate-defined libraries.
