Since the specific tool for the real-time platform concerned manages the real-time target, it is not possible to change parameters using the Simcenter Amesim GUI. It is thus necessary to pass through the specific tools provided by the real-time platform. We will here look at the different possibilities that different platforms present. In general, some preparations are required in Simcenter Amesim to give access to this functionality.

There are two different ways to prepare the Simcenter Amesim model: using global parameters or using watch parameters.

Table 1 indicates for all supported real-time targets if tables or parameters can be changed online – and under which conditions –, how to observe variables and the consequences in terms of restart, reload or recompiling of the exported model.

• Tables can never be changed dynamically.

• To be able to change a parameter or a table when the dynamic change is not supported, one needs to recompile the model.
