The Dashboard in detail > The Object inspector

Modifying properties

Properties can be modified in two ways:

  • Modifying the corresponding object (by dragging, resizing).

  • Editing property values in the Object inspector.

Dragging and resizing

If you click on an object in the scene, green "handles" appear at its four corners, and a yellow circle at its center.

You can now drag that object to position it in the Scene. You can click on a handle and drag it to resize the object. The yellow circle is the center of rotation for the object. You can drag this circle to any position in the Scene.

As you drag an object to reposition it in the scene, you will observe its x and y property values changing accordingly in the Object inspector. As you resize an object, you will also observe its xscale and yscale property values changing.

Editing values in the Object inspector

For more precise control, you can edit property values in the Object inspector. To edit a property, double-click in its property value field.

Now you can either enter a value directly through your keyboard, or use the arrows to adjust the selected value.
