Using the Plot manager

Plot manager

Here we will create the same plot as in the figure Figure 91 and use the Plot manager to create the XY plot.

Procedure

  1. Create the graph in the figure Figure 91 again, plotting displacement of the cam follower and angular displacement of the cam modulo(360)in this order on a single plot.

  2. Select the Plot manager from the plot toolbar .

The Plot manager dialog box appears:

The two curves appear in the Plots & Curves list.

  1. Expand the two curves:

  2. Drag the angular displacement of the cam modulo(360) from Curve 2 onto the Time field of Curve 1:

  3. Select Curve 2 and right-click to remove the curve.

  4. Finally, we click OK, and we have our cam profile:

Results

We will finish the example by altering the characteristics of the curve.
