Associating data with widgets

Now we have completed the app, we can associate data with the widgets it contains.

Procedure

1. Position Simcenter Amesim window and the App Designer so that you can access both of them.

2. Associations In the App Designer, select the Associations tab.

3. Click the button to create a new association for the widget.

4. Double-click in the first column to enable the widget list, and then select the Mass widget from the list:

5. Double-click in the Property field and select Value.

6. data link field Select the Mass component on the sketch, and drag the mass parameter to the data link field.

7. Repeat the procedure to add the Spring Rate and Spring Damper Rating widgets and their associated data links from the Spring Damper component:

8. Click the Save all button and close the App Designer.

The new app appears in the App space: Figure 12: New created app in App space

You can now test your new app by clicking on the tile to launch it. Select the Mass and the Spring Damper components, and observing that modifying the values in the app directly modifies the parameter values in the corresponding components (and vice-versa):

As you can see, it is no longer necessary to open each component to adjust its parameter values.
