Components Adding to sketch

There are two ways of adding components to the sketch. In either case:

• the category dialog box of the component must be displayed,

• the sketch must be unlocked.

Procedure

1. Select the category containing the component you want to place on the sketch, and select the component you require.

When you move the cursor over the sketch area, it will take on the appearance of the component but displayed in black.

2. If necessary, use the mouse right button or Ctrl+M to mirror the component (pivot about a vertical axis).

3. If necessary, use the mouse middle button or Ctrl+R to rotate the component as required

4. To abandon the operation, press Del, or Esc.

The cursor returns to its normal appearance.

5. Move the component into the required position and click the left mouse button.

This is the most flexible method of adding a component to the sketch because you can easily rotate and mirror the component before positioning it or connecting it to other components.

Drag and Drop

Simcenter Amesim offers a drag and drop option. This is the easiest and quickest method for many actions.

You can drag and drop:

• A component from a category to the sketch

• A text from a text editor to the sketchNote The text will have the Simcenter Amesim text format.

• A parameter from the Change Parameters dialog box to the Batch Control Parameter Setup dialog box

To drag and drop do the following:

Procedure

1. Select the component you require.

2. Drag and drop the component to the required position.

Once you have dragged the component to the sketch, you can double-click it to pick it up and move it to a new position, and use the mirror and rotate operations to position it correctly.
