Study management

Creating a study

To create a new study, you have three possibilities:

  • Click the arrow next to the Study Manager button in the Simulation contextual toolbar. Select New Study > Design of Experiments, Monte Carlo or Optimization.

  • In the Studies tab of the Study Manager, click the New button. Define the Type and Name of the study.

  • Click the arrow next to the New button and select DOE, Monte Carlo or Optimization.

Results

The new study is added to the list of studies, on the left-hand side of the window, while the right-hand side displays the settings, parameter definitions and run details of the study, as shown in The Study Manager.

Editing an existing study

To edit an existing study:

  • click the arrow next to the Study Manager button in the Simulation contextual toolbar and select the one you want to edit, or,

  • in the Study Manager, select it directly from the list of studies on the left-hand side of the Studies tab.

Results

Use this action when you want to change the settings of a study. When you select a study, its settings and parameter definitions are displayed on the right-hand side of the window. You can change everything except the study type.

To edit the study name, double-click it in the studies list, modify it and click outside (or type enter).

Warning

The new name will only be saved if you click OK on the Study Manager.

Cloning studies

You can duplicate a study, to start a new study from previously defined settings, but without losing them.

Procedure

  1. Select the study you want to duplicate.

  2. Right-click and select Clone study.

A new study is created.

Results

You can rename the new study and edit its settings.

Removing studies

To remove a study, select it directly from the list of studies in the Studies tab of the Study Manager and:

  • click the Remove button, or,

  • right-click and select Remove from the menu.

Results

Note

You cannot remove a study that is already running.
