Experiment view loading and applying experiments

Once you have created a set of experiments for a system, you can apply the different parameters and results (if available) that they contain.

You can apply an experiment as follows:

• Right-click the experiment and select Apply parameters and results or Apply parameters only from the contextual menu.

• Select the experiment and click the Apply parameters only button in the toolbar

If you have modified any parameters in the system without saving it before applying an experiment, a warning message appears:

• Click Save and apply if you wish to save the current system settings before applying the experiment settings.

• Click Don’t save and apply if you want to simply apply the experiment settings without saving the current system settings.

• Click Show Details to see what differences exist between the current system parameters and the parameters of the experiment:

• Click Cancel to stop the operation.

When you click either Save and apply or Don’t save and apply, the selected experiment’s parameters and results (if available) are applied to the system.

In the above example, we will "Load and apply" exp_1 to the system. Currently the mass parameter is set at 300 kg, but in exp_1, it is set to 400 kg. When you click Yes the mass parameter changes to 400 kg:

If before you created exp_1 you ran a simulation (with the mass set to 400 kg), the results of that simulation were saved with the experiment. Therefore, any open plot is updated with the new results from the experiment. If Automatic update is selected for the plot in question, the plot is refreshed automatically. If not, when you click Tools > Update in Plot, you will see the new results.
