1D and XY tables
To save the data as a 1D or XYs table, choose the 1D/XY option from the Table type drop-down list.

Cell selection
The selection group corresponding to the 1D and XYs table formats allows you to specify the selection of cells for the X-axis values and the Y-axes values.
Figure 19: Selection for data cells
When the 1D/XY table type is selected, the following conditions apply:
X and Y axis selections must be made on columns.
If you select a single column for Y-axes, the table format is 1D. Otherwise the format is XYs.
If you make a multiple selection for Y-axes, the X axis selection is common to all axes.
The order in which you select the Y axes is transposed to the table created. For example, if your selection for the Y-axes is D4:D9 F4:F9, then Y1 corresponds to the selection from D and Y2 corresponds to the selection from F. If the selection is F4:F9 D4:D9, then Y1 corresponds to the selection from F and Y2 corresponds to the selection from D. The labels in the top left-hand corner of the cell selection indicates what the current selection is.

Here is an example of a selection in the spreadsheet and the corresponding formula in the selection fields:
