Model collection editor

When a model is managed by the Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git you can view information about that model in the Model collection editor Model collection editor. Here you can see the synchronization status of the collection, publish local changes to the server, and update the model to the latest version. You can also edit elements, set attributes, set maturity status and share the collection with others.

The toolbar contains the following buttons:

Button Function
Detach from server. Detach the collection from the server.
Create Element. Add an element to the collection.
Edit Element. Edit the selected element.
Delete Element. Delete the selected element.
Edit Element Attributes. Edit the attributes of the selected element.
Server history View the element's server history.
Upload model. When you click this button, the model in its current state is uploaded to the server, and the version number is incremented.
Create Branch and Switch. Create a new branch for the selected element.
Update to Head. When the local version of a model is not the latest version, you can click this button to download the server version to replace the local version.
Revert collection. Revert local changes. This action cancels any local changes and restores the base version. This feature only applies to the root collection. If a user only wants to revert a child collection, the user must open the child collection in the Model collection editor.
Request sharing. Share a Collection version with outer user groups.
Share Link for Teamcenter. Share a Collection version with Teamcenter. Only Reviewed and Validated versions can be exported to Teamcenter.
Request maturity status. Send a request (to users who have permission to accept requests to change the status) in order to share the collection with other user groups.
Update sync status. Click this button to refresh the synchronization status.

The columns provide the following information:

Create Branch and Switch

You can create a new branch and switch to another version in another branch.

Using the Server History

The Server History feature provides a graphical or a table view of the collection history.

Graphical view Table view

From the Server History you can view the version history and perform the following actions:

Update to version Switch the local collection to any version in any branch.
Lock Lock any branch so that other users cannot upload a new version to that branch.
Switch TVH Switch from table view to graphic view.
Switch GVH Switch from graphic view to table view.
Local version Go back to the collection structure pane.

From the Server History, you can perform the following actions: switch branch or lock a branch. You can use the Update to Version feature to switch the local collection to any version in any branch. You can lock a branch to prevent other users from uploading a new version in that branch.

Adding additional files to Models and Libraries

You can add additional files to your models and libraries, for example a report, related requirement files, additional data files, source code and so on.

You can do this through the Create Element button.

In the Model collection editor you can use the Related Files element Type:

In the Library collection editor you can use the Library other files element type:

Warning

Only use the Model related files and Library other files options, otherwise your attachment will be overwritten by the upload process as the other options are system-generated elements. You can add several Model-related fields and library-related other file elements.

On the Details and Sharing info tabs, you can view and edit details about the model. You can add several model-related fields, and library other file elements. If you click the pen icon, you can edit the Name and Description:

Note

When you upload a local version of a model that is managed through the Simcenter System Simulation Client for Git to the server, the Collection Name, Branch Name and Classification fields are disabled:

If the message field contains warnings about missing files, you can select the Proceed with missing data files checkbox to ignore these potential errors.
