Automation Connect installation instructions
Download the Automation Connect archive from Support Center.
After downloading the Automation Connect archive, it may be necessary to unblock it. Right-click the archive and select Properties. If the Unblock option is shown, activate the option and click OK.
Unzip the archive.
The unzipped archive has a parent folder in which are two sub-folders, x64 and x86. These sub-folders contain the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Automation Connect respectively.
To start the tool manually, in the folder containing the version of your choice (64-bit or 32-bit), double-click Automation_Connect.exe.
Once the installation is complete, Automation Connect detects the versions of Simcenter Amesim that are already installed. If multiple installations are found, you must indicate which version you want to use.
Note Although some older versions of Simcenter Amesim might work with more recent versions of Automation Connect, this is not the recommended situation. Only identical releases are properly tested and designed to work with each other.
If the installation of Automation Connect is successful, you can start it directly from the Interfaces menu of Simcenter Amesim (with an automated 32-bit / 64-bit detection) in Simulation mode, with no further action required.
If the installation is not successful:
You must define a user or system environment variable manually called AUTOMATION_CONNECT under Windows. You must set its value to the full path to your Automation Connect installation folder. Note You must use double quotes. For instance, “C:\Automation_Connect” is an acceptable value.
You must also define an AME environment variable, pointing to the suitable installation folder of Simcenter Amesim. For example C:\Program Files\Simcenter\2310\Amesim is a usual default value but it should be adapted to your specific case.
