CAD Import, Change frame operation

The Change scene frame feature allows you to modify the orientation of the scene global frame, that is to say the absolute frame.

When using 1D modeling to associate primitive and generate a model, some domains required that the absolute frame of the system is defined with the right orientation. The Z-axis is often assumed to be opposite to the direction of the local gravity vector. It is then useful to change the scene frame of a CAD if that one does not have a correctly oriented Z-axis.

Procedure

  1. From the CAD modeling menu, select Change scene frame  to display a dialog box that will help you perform a rotation of the scene frame around an axis,

  2. Select the axis for the rotation and enter a value for the angle of rotation around the selected axis. Click the Change frame button to apply the rotation.

Note

You can undo the frame change operation without closing the Change frame dialog. The undo and redo buttons remain available.
