Creating an intersecting plane
Intersecting plane manager
To illustrate this process of creating an intersecting plane, we will continue with the example created in 3D surface and mesh plots.
Procedure
Right-click on the surface plot and select Graph:

Select the Planes tab in the Graph dialog box:

The tab contains the list of current intersecting planes (if any already exist). Each plane is referenced by an equation in the following form: aX + bY + c*Z = d. The four coefficients a, b, c and d are real numbers.
Click the button. A new intersecting plane field is added to the list:

Enter the four coefficients of the equation in the text boxes.
Select a color for the intersecting plane.
Select the required Cut Mode:
None
Above
Below
Click somewhere in the white space in the Intersecting Plane Manager to confirm your input. The equation appears in place of the text boxes:
Click Apply or OK to confirm your intersecting plane.
Add further intersecting planes as necessary.
The results are as follows: Figure 173: Z = 0.4
Figure 174: Z > 0.4
Figure 175: Z < 0.4
Figure 176: Z=0.4 - Y>10 - X>-2
