The Simcenter Amesim Workspace > The Libraries
The Library tree
The Library tree lists all the libraries defined in your Category path list (for which you have a license, and which you have currently enabled). See Category path list for more information on this subject.
Figure 10: The Library tree
Each library groups its components into sub-folders. Click on a library to expand its sub-folders. When you select one of these sub-folders, the contents are automatically displayed on the left. Click again to collapse the list of sub-folders.
Double-click on a library node or one of its sub-folders or right-click and select Explore to open the Library Items window.
You can then move that window to nest it elsewhere in the Simcenter Amesim workspace. In this way you can have your most commonly-used libraries open throughout the circuit-construction phase.
In the above screenshot, the 1D Mechanical/Translation/Masses library node is nested at the bottom of the Simcenter Amesim workspace. The position of nested or floating libraries is saved when you close Simcenter Amesim. The next time you open Simcenter Amesim, your workspace will be as you configured it during the last session.
You can select icons in the Library tree or in the Library Items to drag to the sketch:
Note
A useful shortcut when adding components to the sketch is to use the space bar. This repeats the last addition of a component. If, for example, you add a two-port mass to the sketch, pressing the space bar will add another two-port mass to the sketch, and another for each subsequent press of the space bar.
