Introduction

Supported interface modes

generic co-simulation interface mode

Table Table 3 shows the interface modes supported by Generic Co-simulation.

Envisaged interface mode Supported1
1.1 Co-simulation in Simcenter Amesim as Master (third-party software as Salve) Yes
1.2 Model Exchange: Import of third-party software model into Simcenter Amesim No2
2.1 Co-simulation in third-party software: Simcenter Amesim as Slave (third-party software as Master) Yes
2.2 Model Exchange: Export of Simcenter Amesim model into third-party software No2
The availability of some co-simulation modes depends on the interfacing capabilities of the third-party software (which can be Simcenter Amesim itself or Simcenter Amesim - Simcenter Amesim co-simulation). Model Exchange modes are not available since co-simulation implies the use of as many solvers as coupled models. However, dedicated interfaces for Model Exchange are available for software such as Simulink, MSC.Adams or LMS Virtual.Lab Motion. The Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) for Model Exchange is also supported by Simcenter Amesim. Please refer to the "All Platform manuals" section of the Interactive Help.
