Starting Simcenter Amesim

Using Windows Select Simcenter Amesim from the menu All Programs > Simcenter Amesim > Simcenter Amesim produced by the Start button, Double click on the Simcenter Amesim icon on your desktop, or,

You can configure Windows so that Simcenter Amesim starts automatically when you double-click on a system file (.ame file) in Windows Explorer. To do so, please refer to the setup procedure in the Installation Notes.

Using Linux In a suitable window, change to the directory where you wish to work and type /opt/Siemens/Simcenter_Amesim_2511/AMESim (assuming Simcenter Amesim is installed under the folder /opt/Siemens/Simcenter_Amesim_2511/).

The Simcenter Amesim main window opens.

Other ways to start Simcenter Amesim

  • You can start Simcenter Amesim from the command line adding a model name in the argument: AMESim C:\AMETest\MyModel.ame

  • You can open another model in the same instance of Simcenter Amesim: AMESim C:\AMETest\MyNewModel.ame

  • You can open a model in a different instance of Simcenter Amesim using --multi: AMESim --multi C:\AMETest\MyModel.ame
