Axis customization

Double-click on the axis area or select Axis in the axis contextual menu. This gives access to a dialog box from which you can modify either the format, the values, or the scale of the selected axis.

The General tab

This tab gives you access to the following actions:

• You can edit the Title of the axis, as well as its font and color as follows:

  Title: Edit the title in the text box.
  
  
  Font and color: Right-click in the title text box to modify font and color:

• You can modify the minimum and maximum values of the selected axis. This is done by deselecting the Autoscale check box and by setting the new value in place of the current one.

• You can use the Logarithmic check box to switch between a logarithmic scale and a linear scale. Note The logarithmic scale is available even if the data has negative or zero values. In this case, only the positive data will be displayed.

• You can select what to display on the axis (titles, units, lines and texts).

The Values tab

On the Values tab, you can set the Power, and customize the tick-marks on each axis.

• Power

  Power: To adjust the power of values on the axis, select Fixed number Fixed number from the drop-down list, and adjust the Num field value as you require. If you modify the value in the Num field, the drop-down list is automatically set to Fixed number. When you click OK or Apply, the setting is applied to the axis. To restore the default behavior, select Automatic from the drop-down list and click OK or Apply.

• Ticks

  Ticks: To adjust the ticks on an axis, select either Fixed step or Custom from the Major Major drop-down list. Fixed step: Enter a step size in the Step value field and click OK or Apply. Custom: When Custom is selected, you can edit the values, the text labels, and the number of ticks for the axis. Double-click in the Values or Text column to modify a tick value or label:

You can add or remove a tick using the contextual menu, or keyboard shortcuts + and Del.

The Format tab

• Axis Properties: Here you can modify the text properties of the values of the axis (color, font, thickness, etc.). However, these options do not modify the text of the axis title. To modify the axis title properties, right-click it and use the contextual menu options.

• Grid lines: Here you can adjust the color and thickness of the grid lines, and indicate which ticks are used to display grid lines.
