The Aim of the App Designer

The App Designer is designed to respond to a wide variety of needs ranging from simple to complex pre- and post- processing graphical user interfaces linked either to models or components.

Starting with App Designer is very easy as you will see. In no time you can create simple parameterization apps using drag and drop of Editors, Table Previews, Images, Labels and many other available widgets onto a graphical form and linking them to model parameters through drag and drop:

These apps can be found in Simcenter Amesim as follows:

Where How What
Model Through the Analysis toolbar
Component Through the contextual menu

Progressively you might want to start introducing some additional Python code to enrich your app with additional logic which can be done using our Apps Python API. The level of complexity fully depends on your needs and can range from a simple plot visualization to very complex apps doing more sophisticated pre- and post-processing.

Our demos will also help you in taking the first steps into Python coding with apps.

Last but not least you can import and export apps to reuse them and use them at both model and component levels. For component apps, use the Submodel Editor (see Including component apps in a library) to link an app to a submodel so that your dedicated app is always available on these submodels by default.
