Setting up configuration for remote parallel or sequential jobs

To establish communication between local and remote hosts, a specific port must be opened on the remote machine, and a service (STDSIMManager) monitoring communication at that port must be launched. In the following section, we will give a brief description on how to set up these services easily.

Note

By default STDSimManager does not accept connections from remote hosts (change introduced in Simcenter Amesim 2021.1).

To allow connections from remote hosts it is necessary to add -allow-remote as an option to STDSimManager.

To launch runs on a network of machines, you must set up some services on each remote host. As these services are launched with a user account, the user must be able to open a session on each machine. Moreover, Simcenter Amesim should be installed on a local disk of the targeted remote host(s).

The objective of the following section is to describe how to set up such services on remote hosts.
