Understanding the Comparison tree

Figure 357: Model Comparison tree

This view displays the differences between the two models. It highlights differences between the models for the following items:

  • Model structure: presence/absence of components and connection lines

  • Global parameter values

  • Submodels set for a given component

  • Presence/absence of parameters as a result of submodel differences

  • Parameter values and titles

  • Run parameters

The legend highlight colors indicate the following information:

Color/label Meaning
The two elements have been matched, but that constituent values are different
An element is present on the right-hand side of the comparison, but absent on the left-hand side
An element is present on the left-hand side of the comparison, but absent on the right-hand side
This visual can be overlaid on top of any element in the comparison, and indicates that a difference here may have an influence on the simulation results produced by the two models. Examples of differences that may influence simulation results include: Presence/absence of components Global and standard parameter values Specified submodels

Note

Model Comparison does not compare the interpreted value of parameters whose value is an expression. A raw text comparison is performed in this case.

Below we present some examples of differences and their explanation:

The component th_temperature_source with the alias th_temperature_source and submodel THTS1 is present in VehicleSizing.ame, and not in VehicleSizing_v2.ame.

The components mass_friction_endstops, sinewave and th_temperature_converter are present in VehicleSizing_v2.ame, and not in VehicleSizing.ame.

The component ae_GenericLoad_QS is present in both models, however, the submodel that has been set for it is different: AEGL02 in VehicleSizing.ame as opposed to AEGL01 in VehicleSizing_v2.ame. As a result, several new parameters are present associated with AEGL02.

The value of the parameter *filename for cycle velocity [m/s] = f(time [s])*of the submodel DRVDRVAT01V02 is different.

Caution

Only the literal string corresponding to the parameter value has changed here – no comparison is performed on the contents of the data files in Model Comparison.

The values of some of the global parameters in the model are different.
