The Dashboard in detail > The Menu and Tool bar

Zoom tools

The Zoom toolbar contains three icons, and a spinbox.

Figure 12: Zoom tools

The first two icons are straightforward: zoom in and zoom out. In addition there are three other zoom functions to help you view your scene:

  • Fit All In

  • Auto Zoom

  • Manual zoom factor

Fit All In

Fit All In

If you click the Fit All In icon , or use the menu View > Zoom > Fit All In, the Scene is adjusted to display all the items it contains. If the Dashboard editor window is currently too small to display all items, the display is zoomed out to display all items. If the Dashboard editor window is larger than is required to display all items with the current zoom level (there is a lot of unused white space around the display), the display is zoomed in to the highest appropriate zoom level (maintaining the aspect ratio).

Auto Zoom

If View > Zoom > Auto Zoom is enabled, the zoom level is set to the most appropriate zoom level, and is from then on automatically adjusted to display all items as you resize the Dashboard editor window.

Auto Zoom is disabled whenever you set a manual zoom factor, or zoom using Ctrl + the mouse wheel.

Manual zoom factor

You can enter a zoom factor (in per cent) using the scroll box next to the zoom tools:

You can edit this field manually (enter a zoom factor through your keyboard), or use the arrows to increase or decrease the zoom factor.

Note

You can use Ctrl + and Ctrl - to zoom in and out. You can also use Ctrl with the mouse wheel.
