Reducing the number of variables to save, and saved results

Sometimes a simulation is slow due to access to the hard disk when the .results file is written. This happens, for example, when the model is stored on a remote disk that is accessed through a slow network.

To improve simulation speed, select only the variables that interest you, and deselect those that are unimportant. The simplest way to do this is to click on your sketch and use Ctrl+A to select all your submodels, right-click and select Save no variables from the contextual menu.

Then you can select the submodel that contains the variables you are interested in and use the Save next checkbox to select the relevant variables.

You can also increase the print interval, if possible, in order to limit the number of points for each variable that will be saved.
