Simple examples This chapter is dedicated to examples involving real or virtual PLCs. More examples will be described in future releases of the Automation Connect tool.

Hydraulic Press

A demo is available in the Simcenter Amesim Help, from the following location: $AME/demo/Solutions/MechanicalIndustries/Hydraulic_press/Hydraulic_press_PLC_controls_validation.html.

It showcases a hydraulic press controlled by a PLC. The PLC logic is programmed within the TIA portal. The PLC code is downloaded to a PLCSIM Advanced instance that emulates an S7-1500 PLC. The goal is to validate the control logic virtually i.e. in SiL mode using a Simcenter Amesim "digital twin" and PLCSIM Advanced.
