Create a simple animation
Playing and adjusting the animation
Play and adjust the animation
The Scene is now ready, we can play the animation.
Procedure
- Click the play button in the Animation toolbar:
The animation starts, and we observe the ball fall and bounce to a standstill. The background image is probably not correctly positioned for the full movement of the ball, but we can easily adjust it and the ball’s relative positions.
Select the ball and drag it so it is fully within the background image, and restart the animation.
Does the ball fall too far in relationship to the grass? With the ball in its final resting position, click on the grass graphic primitive and stretch it downwards so that its lower edge encompasses the ball’s position.
Restart the animation and make any other adjustments you require.
Modify the original simulation
We can modify the original circuit and run a new simulation. The Dashboard is automatically updated.
Procedure
Leaving the Dashboard editor open, switch back to the main Simcenter Amesim window. Let’s play around with the parameters of the simulation, and observe the effect in the Dashboard.
Change the mass of the ball to 3 kg and relaunch the simulation.
Note The animation is reset to the start in the Dashboard (if you had not already done this yourself).
- Replay the animation in the Dashboard.
Note The ball now bounces a little longer than previously, when it weighed just 1 kg.
Close your Simcenter Amesim model
Once you are finished, you can close your model. If you have not done so yet, you will be prompted to save it.
Note
Whenever you modify a dashboard in Simcenter Amesim, you will be prompted to save your model if you try to close it without saving it first.
