How do you create a slave model?

First, create a Simcenter Amesim system with sensors for the variables you have an interest in:

You are now ready to create the interface blocks. If you have already used the Simcenter Amesim-Simulink interfaces you will recognize the procedure. The only difference comes from the selection of "UserCosim".

It is possible to create several blocks – it is a good idea to separate inputs from outputs.

Now compile this model. A dynamic library is created and can now be imported by the master. Enter Simulation mode. Do not forget to use the File

Write Auxiliary File commands to generate the parameter data file.

In most cases, models containing interface blocks cannot be run as they are. However, it can be useful to perform some basic checks such as open-loop simulations to see if the configuration of your model is correct; for example to check whether it can locate all its resources (typically tables) and that it initializes correctly. See next section for more detail on this topic.
