IQAN simulate 5

If you are working with IQAN electronic control systems for mobile machinery, you can enhance your function and validation test in IQANsimulate with additional Simcenter Amesim behavior models. Similar to the other interfaces, you simply connect your IQANsimulate project (*.isax) to Automation Connect. As IQAN offers project-specific cycle times, you need to transfer this value to Automation Connect before connecting a project. (see figure Figure 43). This allows you to synchronize your simulations later.

Figure 43: Transferring the simulation cycle time from IQANsimulate

After this step you can press Connect to select your *.isax file. You will be presented with a new dialog listing all available variables. The variables are organized in a tree view with the two nodes "acChannel" and "acModule".

Here you can select specific variables (or complete nodes) and drag and drop them into the list below. After accepting the selection by pressing the OK button they will be transferred to the IQANsimulate interface tab (see figure Figure 44).

Note

There can be interface issues when you try to connect to an already running IQANsimulate instance. Therefore, make sure to close obsolete instances and let Automation Connect start IQANsimulate for you.

Additional IQANsimulate related information

  • Automation Connect will automatically start IQANsimulate in the connection process, as there can be interface issues when you try to connect to an already running IQANsimulate instance. Therefore, make sure to close obsolete instances and let Automation Connect start IQANsimulate for you.

  • The Automation Connect IQANsimulate interface supports synchronization, although the simulation time is calculated using the defined step size in the IQAN user interface. Therefore, make sure it is set according to your IQAN project.

  • While IQAN simulate can be synchronized, there can be deviations in the IQAN user controls, as for example graphs do not synchronize their displayed time with the simulation time.

  • The Interface to IQANsimulate is compiled and tested for IQANsimulate version 5.04. Possible changes in future versions will require an updated interface in Automation Connect.
