Importing and using FMU
Getting started
The import workflow at a glance
Importing an FMU of any type is made simple by the help of the FMU Import Assistant. Once imported, an FMU behaves as an ordinary Simcenter Amesim submodel:
Procedure
Use the FMU Import Assistant to select the FMU, create and compile an import submodel;
Drop the import submodel on the sketch, connect it to other components;
Change the parameters if necessary (including the step size for co-simulation), run simulation, and post-process the result variables.
Overview of the FMU Import Assistant
The FMU Import Assistant is started from the Interfaces > FMU import assistant menu (see figure below).

The assistant first asks for an FMU and a directory to store the import submodel (see figure below).

It then asks for a C compiler (see figure below). The Generate> button starts the import of the FMU.

The FMU is then imported and the import submodel is compiled (see figure below).
