Creating multi-circuit post-processing variables
A post-processing variable can use variables or parameters from several systems. This is done by appending :system_name to the variable path to indicate the source system.
We will illustrate this with two very simple systems, named Signal1 and Signal2.
Create the following two systems

You can get these systems through Help > Get demo, from the Tutorials directory. The files are called Signal1.ame. and Signal2.ame
Procedure
- Make Signal1 active and switch to Simulation mode.
Leave all parameter values as default.
- Set the following run parameters:
Final time: 1 second
Print interval: 0.1 seconds
Enable the Discontinuities printout on the Standard options tab.
- Run a simulation and plot the result:

- Make Signal2 active and switch to Simulation mode.
Leave all parameter values as default.
- Set the following run parameters:
Final time: 2 seconds
Print interval: 0.01 seconds
- Run a simulation and plot the result:

- Return to Signal1 and create a post-processing variable.
This variable is attached to Signal1, but also uses a variable from Signal2. Enter the expression sink@signalsink+sink@signalsink:Signal2 as shown here: Figure 86: Post-processed multi-circuit variable
- Plot the multi-circuit post-treated variable:

Note The x-axis is the combination of time variables from Signal1 and Signal2.
