Graph tiles and legends

To generate its default title, the graph uses the default title of the first curve of the graph. The default curve title uses the variable name and the unit (in square brackets).

Here we see a graph title for the component with the alias PS_CarBody, where the variable plotted is PS Body displacement.

In the graph legend, we see the colored line (called the graph key) in addition to the previous details.

In the case of a result set other than a single run, result set information is added at the end of the title, displaying, for example, the variant parameter value. Note that this information can be customized through the Simcenter Amesim preferences on the Post Processing tab by clicking the Titles button.

Graph legends contain 3 different menus:

• Curve legend menu

  When you right-click on a curve, the following menu appears:

  Curve: open the Curve dialog box.

  Remove: remove the selected curve.

  Save data: save the curve to a data file.

  Hold curve: create a copy of the curve that will be held. This means that the held curve is static and will not be updated. This option provides a simple method for retaining a curve before running a new simulation.

  Center on sketch component: highlight the corresponding component in the sketch, and center the sketch on that component.

• Box legend menu

  When you right-click on the box surrounding the graph legend, the following menu appears:

  Restore text: if you modify the text, this option restores the original text.

  Border: toggle the box border off and on.

  Delete: delete the graph legend. If you delete the legend, you can restore it through a right-click on the graph and selecting the Title options again.

  Font: select the font for the legend.

  Color: select the color for the legend.

  Position: set the position for the graph legend.

• Text and box legend menu

  When you right-click in the graph legend, the following menu appears:

  This menu gives access to all the options connected to the graph legend text and text box.
